2010 Wrap Up

Well here we are at the end of another year busy year. Time to reflect. I started the year off MDing the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala. This year we inducted Rush. Alex Lifeson is a good friend of mine, and it was great to see them recognized as songwriters. People don’t realize that songwriting is the hard part, and it’s very gratifying to see your songs, your babies, celebrated. Busy Hot Summer – July 19/2010

Sorry about the time since the last post. It’s a really busy and hot summer here in Toronto. Michael Buble’s Crazy Love is still hot on the charts, and i’m told has broken the 5 million mark in sales! This in an era when people aren’t selling CDs anymore…i still get a rush everytime i hear “Haven’t Met You Yet” on the radio. Canadian Music Week – March 15/2010

I was asked to be a speaker this year at CMW. I had never been to CMW, and didn’t know what to expect, but i was blown away. Huge turnout, and i got to connect with some new people, as well as a bunch of old friends i haven’t seen in a while.  I was on a panel with Mike Fraser (famed rock mixer), Bill Bell and Tommie Sunshine, and we had a blast. I also saw a songwriter’s panel with Dave Stewart (Eurythmics)  and Paul Williams. They told stories about their famous songs, then even performed a few…..really great.
