Busy Hot Summer – July 19/2010

Sorry about the time since the last post. It’s a really busy and hot summer here in Toronto. Michael Buble’s Crazy Love is still hot on the charts, and i’m told has broken the 5 million mark in sales! This in an era when people aren’t selling CDs anymore…i still get a rush everytime i hear “Haven’t Met You Yet” on the radio.

Speaking of rushes, power trio Rush has just gone out on tour again and Alex Lifeson asked me to produce the music for the 5 minute film that opens each concert. It was great fun, doing arrangements for The Spirit of Radio in polka style, disco style, and country style. The film is hilarious and will be up on my site soon.

Also, i’m producing a new CD for David Clayton Thomas (Blood, Sweat and Tears) entitled “Soul Ballads”. It’s turning out beautifully. Hearing Clayton’s world-famous blues growl on these classic tunes is a real thrill. It will be available on iTunes mid-October.

Also, I’ll be Musical Director for the Canadian Walk of Fame TV show in mid-October as well. Global TV. They’re inducting Clayton, as well as Nelly Furtado and Eric McCormack (Will & Grace).

And just finishing up a feature length documentary for CTV called The Pig Farm. It chronicles the case of serial killer Willie Pickton.

More updates soon….

Lou.
